Image Group were recommended to Silva Timber by an existing customer, Natasha from a Story Called, for two bespoke exhibitions at Homebuild Show and Grand Designs in 2016.
The first meeting highlighted the need for a flexible stand design that would work across both events and make the most from the budget. Silva Timber supply specialist timber products, cladding and wood finishes and the main focus of the stand was to show off their various different products in the best way possible.
After viewing the quality of the products, it was immediately evident that there was massive potential for Image Group to come up with something very special.
After an extensive design process, Image Group came up with a bespoke modular solution that could be manufactured in their joinery department and easily changed to suit the different floor spaces available at each show. The two main product displays also allowed for quick interchangeability of the ranges on the stand via a split baton hanging system which meant that the products could be swapped around on the day to suit. The addition of a hidden, sliding product wall at the back of the stand and a sample desk with double sided product drawers built in, meant that the client could display a huge selection of their products without overcrowding the stand.
Thanks to the excellent work from start to finish, Silva Timber were overjoyed with the final result and were awarded a “Grand Designs Loves” award at the show for their stand, one of only five to be handed out.

“I had some strong ideas on how to best display the products and utilise the key pieces across the two events and was happy to pass on my design thoughts to our design studio to begin the 3D concepts. When I sat down with Dan initially to chat through my ideas, he asked me if I minded if he completely ignored them as he had a few ideas of his own. Luckily for Silva Timber I have worked with Dan long enough to trust him, and left him to his own devices, and skulked back to my desk . . . designs in hand.
The result was a stand that achieved the difficult task of showcasing numerous samples and finishes whilst also keeping the clean, minimalist look that Silva Timber have in their showroom in Cheshire.
Two large free standing units with integral LCD displays, a bespoke gloss laminated and LED illuminated sample desk, and a bespoke, illuminated timber clad logo wall completed the brief.
It’s always a pleasure to work on projects such as these but now and again your idea of how the stand should look and that of your client’s meet, and the results are immensely satisfying. The stand was everything we hoped it would be and was a total success.”
